The Walking dead returned last night, much to the school girl giddy joy of several members of the GSEG Clan, continuing the saga of a post-apocalyptic world and the struggle for humanity to survive the plague that has overtaken the dead. Yeah, a little dramatic but you get the picture. The Story of the survivors led by a sheriff who, like all survivors, has lost all sense of normalcy and struggles to keep those entrusted to him alive and safe.
Entering into part two of season three it seems only fitting that aside from the comic world, there be a way for fans to even more delve into the world of Rick and the gang. The franchise has realized this and, with the first offering for gamers on multiple platforms, have made an attempt to bring this story to life in a more personal RPG kind of way with “The Walking Dead- Telltale Game Series,” which we reviewed Earlier this month on Xbox 360.
To follow that up on March 19, Activision will be releasing “The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct,” which follows Daryl, from the The Walking Dead AMC show, as he attempts to make his way to Atlanta. This prequel will be extremely interesting to fans since there seems to be a lot of mystery about this character’s background since he was not in the original comic.
This is how Activision has described the release:
The Walking Dead video game takes the undead and brings them out of the AMC Emmy award-winning TV show and into console gaming systems in a new, terrifying way. Terminal Reality’s first-person action game will allow players to assume the role of the mysterious, crossbow-wielding survivor Daryl Dixon on an unforgiving quest to the supposed safety of Atlanta. The iconic walkers will relentlessly hunt down players like their television counterparts using a combination of sight, sound, and smell. As Daryl, players will need to tread carefully throughout each new area they explore. Once discovered, it doesn’t take much to attract an unstoppable horde of undead walkers, so every threat needs to be assessed, and every situation analyzed. No place is truly safe for Daryl as he makes his way through the Georgia countryside, alongside his overbearing brother Merle, in this new, post-apocalyptic world.
We are excited to get for both of these releases and will get The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct reviewed for you all as soon as it’s released! Until then stay alive survivors!
